New manuscript on the arXiv

We uploaded a new manuscript focussing on signatures of hydrogen motion in ultrafast electron diffraction

Our manuscript investigates signatures from the photodissociation of ammonia in ultrafast electron diffraction (UED). One argument for performing UED rather than X-ray scattering experiments is the higher sensitivity of electron diffraction to hydrogens. In our study we demonstrate for the first time the observation of signatures from structural dynamics involving hydrogens in isolated molecules in the photodissociation of one nitrogen-hydrogen bond in ammonia. In addition, we observe signatures from the accompanying electronic structure changes in the molecule, which are clearly separable from the signatures of hydrogen motion. Our manuscript is now available on the arXiv preprint server: http://arxiv.org/abs/2303.03586
